Madelein Muir - The Boss.
I am passionate about Mathematics and how it is taught to students.
I have a firm belief that every student can do Mathematics if they are taught in the right way and in a way that they will understand.

CJ Eltze - Admin Manager
Cape Town import and coffeeholic with a chronic aversion to numbers.
Working for a maths tutoring company is somewhat of an ironic twist, given my maths scores but my attention to detail and need for control allows me to help create the stable environment for the tutors and students alike. As Admin Manager, I do a bit of the everything that needs to happen behind the scene, allowing the others (with better final scores) to focus on getting our student's exam ready.
Shamila Hassam - Administration Assistant.
Southern Suburbs local, Shamila splits her time between the two branches, ensuring that all the daily admin is complete and up to date, so all reports and communication to our parents can go out as soon as possible. Having matriculated from Strandfontien Secondary School Shamila then studied graphic design at IT Business Campus and has completed an internship with a design company before arriving at Mad about Maths. Shamila has also spent time tutoring students on a one on one basis for Reading and Phonics at Pelican Park Primary.
Tanica Theys - Head Tutor Claremont branch.
About me? Well, I'm Tanica, but most people call me T.
I'm the head tutor at the Claremont branch and I'm currently completing my master's degree in medicinal & organic chemistry. This means I love teaching and sharing my passion for chemistry. I also love maths and science (a little too much.)
I also like to sing and teach music, so I believe that arts and science go hand in hand! And with regards, to maths, science or anything that seems particularly daunting: Everything is hard before it is easy - Goethe
Michael Scott - Permanent Tutor Claremont.
I’m a full-time tutor at the Claremont branch and am studying Mathematics part-time. From a young age, I have had a passion for mathematics and science and I have kept that passion with me until this day. I believe that Maths is fun and want to encourage students to understand and foster a love for mathematics and science instead of viewing it as this impossibly complicated task. I think that every student can succeed at Maths, they just need a bit of guidance in the right direction and I hope to be a part of that process!
Cern Williams - Head Tutor Bergvliet Branch.
I’m Cern Jay Williams, (pronounced Kern, I know…) and I’ve recently joined the Bergvliet Team as the Head Tutor 😊
I’ve always had a great love for Mathematics and Science, and also for working with people. This guided me to pursue studies in Engineering, as well as BCom HR, and I have gained great experience in working in these sectors.
I have made the decision to pursue a career in education of Mathematics, and am currently completing my degree, as I feel that there is a common misperception of mathematics on our national school level, and I feel that we need to help our youth understand the benefits and opportunities that Mathematics can create for us in our future (and also that Maths and Science is just plain fun!!!).
It is a great pleasure to work with the youth, and I look forward to guiding them on their path to success.
Marie Parnhoo - Permanent Tutor Bergvliet.
I'm Marie, Maths and Physical Sciences enthusiast. I am currently completing my B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at UCT.
I have been tutoring at Mad about Maths since 2016, and recently moved to Bergvliet.
It is always a great pleasure working with students and getting them to be more passionate about Maths and the Sciences, all while monitoring their progress.
